Who Are You When
You're At Home

A project created during the first year of the Master of Fine Art (Intermedia) at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. The project consisted of public ephemeral works, including writing out the question “Who are you when you’re at home?” in non-destructive ways in public places, the construction of a temporary makeshift home out of found materials, a series of interviews on the subject “Who are you when you’re at home?”, and a printed book documenting all of the above.

I wrote the question "Who are you when you're at home?" ("Kim jestes w domu?") in snow, on steamed up windows on trains and in Uber cabs, throughout Warsaw and Kraków. I thought that this form of public writing, usually restricted to more playful messages, might be a good way to get passers-by to ask themselves this question.

I also wrote the question "Who are you when you're at home?" at Blonia park in Krakow using my bike - my movements were recorded by the app Strava. I then uploaded the result to Strava, Instagram and Facebook.

As part of the Krakow Gallery Weekend KRAKERS, I built a house out of found materials, using string, tape, zip ties, and a knife as the only tool. The shape of the house was entirely determined by the materials I found. The house was built, and dismantled without a trace, in 4 hours, in Kanonicza St, under Wawel Royal Castle in Krakow.
