I'm currently working on a collaborative project with my father, a writer, with whom I emigrated to Australia from Poland in 1984. The project addresses the subject of living between two culturally and linguistically distinct homes, the old and the new one. The first stage of the project, which is close to completion, consists of the bilingual poem The Antipodes and accompanying artwork, and illustrates our experiences as new arrivals in Australia. It will take the form of an exhibition, to be held at the end of January 2024. The exhibition will feature watercolours and pencil drawings, the poem text in Polish and English, a booklet of the poem and accompanying graphic art, and a website where viewers will be able to read the poem in both languages. I've included here some images of the work in progress, including original drawings and paintings, graphic art for the booklet as well as the booklet layout.
